What year did you start teaching at Siouxland Christian?

2017

If you could pass on any wisdom to your students, what would you share?

Your identity is in Christ alone and not in anyone or anything else. Don't let a certain time or phase define you.

Is there a Bible verse or quote/saying that you live your life by?

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." -Romans 12:2

How do you incorporate the Siouxland Christian mission statement into your teaching?

I start each year by telling the students that PE or what happens in school isn't the most important thing in their lives, but instead their relationship with God is. I show my students love where they are at the way Christ shows me love where I am at. I meet national PE standards through my lessons that I teach to make sure my students are getting a well rounded education while in PE class.

Why did you want to become a teacher?

I wanted to become a teacher because I absolutely love kids. I love the humor and personalities that each student brings to class. I went to Siouxland Christian (former Morningside Christian) K-12 and loved growing relationships with my teachers while I was a student there. I loved that I could talk to my teachers about my faith in an open discussion during classes and I wanted to be able to do the same thing with students.

What inspires you?

Being a mom! I love getting to teach and watch my kids grow and develop in their young years.
