Mr. Russ Nordstrom

School Board Vice President

What committees do you serve on?

Strategic Development and Spiritual Emphasis

What is your connection to Siouxland Christian School?

My wife Heather and I have six kids and three grandkids. Our older three children attended Siouxland Christian from 1999 - 2003 and our younger three have attended since 2017. One of the three graduated last year, one is in 9th grade, and one is a senior. Heather volunteers in the lunch room almost daily and substitute teaches as well.

What most excites you about the future of Siouxland Christian School?

I am excited to see the growth at Siouxland Christian School and with the growth will come new opportunities for the kids at the school.

If you could pass on any wisdom to our students, what would you share?

Place your life's priorities on the things that matter and the things that will last. Trust that God has a plan for your life and that it is good. Trust that he loves you deeply. Trust in his word for your daily strength. Place other people's needs above your own. We quickly live for ourselves and our own needs and yet true contentment and joy will only be found when we follow God.

How do you incorporate the Siouxland Christian mission statement into your position on the board?

I think every decision we make as board members should be guided by the SCS mission statement. As leaders we should continue to ensure the school upholds Christ-centeredness, academic excellence, and preparing students for the future.

Is there a Bible verse or quote/saying that you live your life by?

1 Cor 10:31 - "So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."
