What year did you start teaching at Siouxland Christian?
2015
If you could pass on any wisdom to your students, what would you share?
I want my students to know the deep and immeasurable joy of knowing Jesus and living a life to bring Him glory!
Is there a Bible verse or quote/saying that you live your life by?
Choosing one Bible verse is hard but Philippians 1:9-11 have been a treasured verses that I pray for my own life, for the lives of my family members and for the lives of my students; living life pursuing Christ for the glory and praise of God.
9 And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, 10 so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
How do you incorporate the Siouxland Christian mission statement into your teaching?
Life is all about Jesus. In Bible, teaching so students see that our worldview impacts how we see all aspects of life and that without a Biblical worldview we will never see life accurately, everything will be distorted. In history, how all things are created by God, exist through God, and are for His glory. The events of history are all part of the overall narrative of Scripture of God's plan to bring redemption to a broken world and our place in it.
Why did you want to become a teacher?
I love spending time with students, hearing their hearts, laughing with them, doing life with them, it is a joy! But the best part is getting to talk to students about Jesus!
