Dr. Lindsay Laurich is delighted to accept the call for service as the Superintendent of Siouxland Christian School.
Prior to her appointment at SCS, Dr. Laurich taught in the Education Department at Augustana University. She earned her doctorate in Teaching and Learning (Language, Literacy & Culture) from the University of Iowa in 2012. She holds an M.A. in Developmental Reading from the University of Iowa, as well as a B.A. in Elementary Education from Saint Mary’s University in Winona, MN. Dr. Laurich has taught in elementary and middle schools in Minnesota and Iowa, and has continued working in elementary and secondary schools in South Dakota alongside pre-service teachers. Most recently, Dr. Laurich taught graduate courses in the Augustana Education Department; specifically courses in curriculum development. She has received numerous grants and awards for her teaching and research, and has been a member of state and national education committees. In addition, Dr. Laurich was highly involved at Sioux Falls Christian School, where her children attended previously, including serving on the accreditation and compliance committee.
Growing up, Dr. Laurich was blessed by parents and grandparents who modeled their love for Jesus Christ. She recalls singing in the church choir and helping her grandmother make casseroles for church events. This childhood faith and love of service grew and matured through young adulthood as Dr. Laurich participated in Christian campus ministry. Over the years, she has had the privilege of sharing her faith with many students across the Midwest region, and her own faith has continued to grow and deepen. Dr. Laurich trusts in God as her most faithful friend, and she daily asks for His guidance and wisdom.
Dr. Laurich and her family moved to the Sioux City area in July 2018. When Dr. Laurich and her husband (Dr. Chad Laurich) toured SCS they immediately sensed that it was a wellspring for the community and they were greatly encouraged and inspired by the active Christian atmosphere and learning they observed. They knew that they were called to participate in the growth and support of SCS. The Laurich children (Peter, Ethan and Lucas) were enrolled in the school during the last academic year and are looking forward to rejoining their friends this fall.
With reliance on her Christian faith, her professional experiences and education, and her heart for the Siouxland Christian School community, Dr. Laurich is committed to lead SCS into an exciting new season of growth and continued focus on academic excellence.
She has expressed to the SCS Board her thankfulness for the grace of God in leading her to this position and is humbly prepared to accept the call.
